Why is My Child Always Tired?
If you have noticed that your child is unusually tired and you know that he or she is getting an adequate amount of sleep, you are right to be concerned. Is the Entire Family Like This?
If so, chances are good that something is off-balance at home. It could well be that everybody’s sleep patterns are a little off and that everyone needs to change a few habits when it comes to sleep. Children require more sleep than adults so don’t think that if everyone is getting 7-8 hours per night that’s adequate for everybody.
It may be time to re-establish a healthy sleep cycle that includes getting to bed earlier on school nights and not sleeping the days away on weekends. Keep their internal clocks accustomed to similar sleep and awake intervals all the time.
Bad food choices can also factor in to an entire family always feeling tired. Most children will start to feel tired soon after a meal that is laden with processed foodstuffs and chemicals. Consider preparing more of your meals from scratch and including a healthy balance of protein and vegetables in everyone’s diet.

If that is the case, then it’s time to look into other causes. If you are satisfied that the issue isn’t dietary or the result of poor sleep habits, there are other causes as well. Some are medical in nature and can include things like low blood sugar and anaemia. It is important to explore every possible cause and check as many things off the list as possible when looking for a lasting solution.
Auditory Processing Deficiencies and Tiredness
One cause that few people even think to consider is auditory processing. Few things we do in our day require more mental effort than listening and that mental effort has to draw its energy from somewhere. When the brain has to work too hard to listen, it becomes fatigued. That fatigue presents as excessive tiredness.
