Teenagers 7 good reasons to quit smoking

7 Good Reasons why as a Teenager you should quit smoking!

The younger you are when you start smoking, the more damage your body will endure as you age. From your teeth turning yellow to premature wrinkling of the skin, the damage is anything but pleasant. However, if you love wrinkles and yellow teeth….. keep smoking!! If you don’t read on!

Starting smoking early leads to serious problems, even death. To put things into perspective, we’re sharing the top reasons why teens need to stop smoking today.

7 Reasons Why Teenagers and Young People Need to Stop Smoking NowYou’ll have more money for fun things. Instead of paying $20 per pack for cigarettes, you’ll have more spending money for fun things. You can go to the movies, take a holiday with friends, or buy those new shoes you’ve been eyeballing since last season. Whatever favorite hobby or pastime you enjoy, you will have more money to do it when you aren’t forking out the cash for cigarettes.

You’ll look better. The chemicals found in tobacco products restrict the flow of blood to the skin and other areas of the body. Over time, smokers experience saggy faces, droopy cheeks, and more wrinkles than non-smokers. By the time you’re in your mid to late 20s, you could have the face of a 40 or 50 year old. Now, that’s frightening.

You can help save the planet. Want to do your part by improving the earth you live on and leave a smaller footprint? Deforestation due to the production of tobacco accounts for about 5 percent of the overall deforestation in the world. It’s time to really save the trees, not just talk about doing so.

You’ll be instantly more attractive. Most people prefer snuggling up and kissing a non-smoker. Let’s face it, smoker’s breath doesn’t smell sweet. In fact, some of the most famous athletes and actors think smoking is less than attractive. From Joe Cole to Cristiano Ronaldo, these famous men think smoking isn’t cool.

You’ll be less likely to die prematurely. Sound harsh? Unfortunately, the harsh realities of smoking include disease and dying. Someone who starts smoking at 15 is three times more likely to die of lung cancer than someone who starts smoking in their mid-20s. The younger you start, the more likely you are to get sick.

Yellow teeth and wrinkles are not a good look!

Your teeth won’t discolor. People who smoke have yellow teeth. It’s a proven fact and one that can’t be avoided. The nicotine and tar in cigarettes results in teeth discoloration. Within just a few months the teeth turn an off-white color and eventually become yellow. Long-term smoking results in brown teeth, which is not something you want to see when you look in the mirror.

You’ll have more energy and be more productive. Smoking decreases lung capacity, and ultimately puts a cap on proper oxygen supply in the blood. If you want to be healthy and less out of breath, you have to quit smoking and allow your lungs some time to heal. Within weeks of quitting, you’ll notice an increase in energy. You’ll feel more productive and actually want to do things. You’ll be able to focus, pay attention in class, and get things done that you’ve been putting off for months. It’s never too late to quit.
